Hi, I'm Jackie.

I’m a health writer. I tell stories about health and wellness. Whether it’s a medical breakthrough, a research finding that upends current thinking, or an inspirational tidbit about mindfulness—I use words that people understand.

The media announce the latest medical and scientific discoveries almost daily, so the lack of health and wellness information isn’t the issue these days. The real issue is that many people don’t understand what these findings have to do with their lives. There’s where I come in. I create easy-to-digest nuggets of content that make readers and listeners care.

Throughout my career, I have partnered with agencies and organizations to create, develop, launch, and market health campaigns targeted to diverse audiences—from American Indians in the Black Hills of South Dakota, to elderly Chinese women in New York’s Chinatown, to young Hispanics and African Americans in Los Angeles, to providers staffing a health fair in rural Louisiana. These experiences inform my writing and strengthen my commitment to creating stories that get to the point.

On a more personal note, I am committed to highlighting women’s health concerns and health disparities. With pride, I support the efforts of the Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation (www.sjogrens.org). The Foundation works to raise awareness of and increase research funding for Sjogren’s Syndrome, an autoimmune disease that affects more than four million people—mostly women—across this country. After too many years of often frustrating visits to physicians, my daughter was finally diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome. So this is personal.

For me, doing well so I can do good is what matters. I value opportunities to collaborate with like-minded people and appreciate long-lasting relationships with my clients. Let’s talk about how we can work together.

"Creating documents by committee can be challenging, but Jackie’s experience prepared her for the task. […] Her attention to detail, gentle guidance, patience, flexibility, and adherence to the schedule and budget exceeded our expectations and made it a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
